Meet Paul!

Thanks for visiting my site. I’m a strategically-focused freelance creative, based on the Central Coast of NSW, Australia. I love the Coast, not just because of the lifestyle, but it puts me right in the middle of two major cities, Sydney and Newcastle where I do the bulk of my work.

I’ve spent over 15 years working in large advertising agencies in Sydney – Singleton Ogilvy and Mather, OgilvyOne and Saatchi&Saatchi to name a couple but for the last few years, I’ve been going it on my own, as a freelance creative, working from my home office, direct with clients and brands and in-house advertising agency stints.

Direct Marketing was my first passion, so I believe that work needs to be effective, not just creative and it must accomplish business objectives while upholding brand values. Brands also need to tell a story or some sort of narrative that explains who they are. There’s far too many these days that don’t do it well or don’t even do it at all.

I’ve worked across quite a few sectors including financial services, IT, FMCG, retail, mining, real estate on brands such as David Jones, American Express, BHP, Telstra, IBM, Lenovo, LJ Hooker, BHP, Unilever, Bankwest and Nestlé + loads more.

Skills

Conceptual thinking, idea generation, graphic design, art direction, creative strategy and team leadership are all part of the services I offer as a freelance creative.
I like taking complex problems and creating simple creative solutions around them. After bringing those ideas to life,
I can present clear thinking to all levels within an organisation. I’m a hands on freelance creative that immerses myself in technology and art. I’m fluent in Adobe CC apps, have a solid understanding of all possibilities online and an excellent understanding of the printing process.
Aside from this I’m big on process and workflow, not afraid of a tight timeline or a skinny budget.

Photography

Shooting has always been a passion of mine, so I’m set-up to handle smaller studio and location work that otherwise wouldn’t fit into a reduced budget. I’m a keen sports photography and shoot loads of rugby league for teams such as the Sydney Roosters, Canterbury Bulldogs, Wests Tigers, Newcastle Knights and the St George Dragons and the Wyong Roos. Rates

I’m flexible in the way we can work together but as a guide, this is how I structure my fees:
Hourly Rate – usually on smaller projects from my office
Daily Rate – on site at your place
Project Rate – on-site and off, depending on the project
